4. How the competition works
4.1 Once a day, eligible subscribers to the Service will be entitled to participate in the Competition. To take part, subscribers need to go to the website www.clubgenio.co.za (the ‘Website’) and logon using their login details. Then select the ‘Start Quiz Now’ option. The Promoter does not charge any fee for entering and participating in the Competition or for participants' answering the questions. When playing via WAP or web site, your data service provider may impose a charge for any data usage. The Promoter has no control over this aspect nor does it obtain any fee or proportion thereof from your service provider in this respect.
4.2 The daily Quiz will consist of 9 consecutive multiple choice or "monkey puzzle" general knowledge questions and 1 math related question. It can be played via the Website, Wapsite or SMS on occasion, to which, participants must reply with an answer selected from the options available (multiple choice) in order to be eligible to win a share of the total Reward.
4.3 The ultimate winners of the Competition will be determined by two factors:
(1) the status of their answers to the questions (correct or incorrect); and
4.4 The winners can redeem their Genio coins/reward online on the Website, by logging in with their login details as selected at time of subscription to the Service. Ranking of players is determined as follows: everyone who took part in the Competition are first ranked according to the status of their answers to questions sent by the service (correct or incorrect). After all participants have been ranked in this way, they will be categorised into four tiers:
1) Zero Answers Correct;
Each tier will then be ranked according to the speed with which the participant had answered—fastest answer will be ranked first, second fastest will be ranked second and so forth. The participant with the most answers correct at the fastest speed/time will be eligible for the largest part of the available Reward/jackpot. Second in line will be eligible for the second level part of the available Reward, and so forth.
4.5 The rewards, for which Genio coins can be redeemed, may differ each month. The number of Genio coins required in order to claim a reward under the Competition might also differ each month, depending on the nature of the reward. You must visit the Website to find out which rewards are on offer each month and how many Genio coins are required for redemption.
4.6 You cannot claim a reward if you do not have sufficient Genio coins to redeem.
4.7 While the Promoter will make reasonable efforts to satisfy all reasonably anticipated demands for redemption of rewards under the Competition, the Promoter does not guarantee that there will be sufficient rewards available in order for you to redeem your Genio coins. In such event, the Promoter will make comparable rewards available against which you can redeem your Genio coins.
4.8 The decision of the Promoter with regards to the redemption of Genio coins is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4.9 Genio coins are not transferable and there is no cash alternative when redeeming Genio coins.
4.10 Once a reward has been claimed using the Genio coins, the reward becomes non-exchangeable. There is no cash alternative to the reward available.
5. Reward allocation
5.1 You must visit the Website at www.clubgenio.co.za to find out which rewards are on offer at the time of entering into the Competition and how many Genio coins are required for redemption of those rewards. Although Genio coins will remain redeemable for up to 3 (three) months, the available rewards may often change during this period. The number of Genio coins required in order to claim a specific reward under the Competition may also change.
5.2 Due to the fact that the rewards may change from time to time the Promoter cannot guarantee that there will be sufficient quantity of particular rewards available in order for you to redeem your Genio coins. In such event, the Promoter will make comparable rewards available for which you can redeem your Genio coins.
5.3 To see how many Genio coins you have accumulated, you must access the Competition website at www.clubgenio.co.za and log in. You cannot claim a reward if you do not have sufficient Genio coins to redeem that reward. Genio coins are not transferable to other persons and cannot be redeemed for cash.
5.4 Once a subscriber has completed the online redemption process, the Promoter will inform Kalahari.com of the subscriber’s details. Kalahari.com will then issue Kalahari vouchers to the same value as the claimed reward to the subscribers email address supplied. The subscriber may then use these vouchers to order the selected reward directly on the Kalahari.com website. Kalahari.com assumes the responsibility of delivering the vouchers to the subscriber.
5.5 Apart from an undertaking to communicate the subscriber’s details and information regarding the redeemed award to Kalahari.com timeously and correctly, the Promoter assumes no liability for undelivered, delayed, damaged or incorrect redeemed vouchers delivered by Kalahari.com. Disputes of this nature should be addressed directly to Kalahari.com.
6.1 Winners are requested to allow their name, image and likeness being used and published by the Promoter in connection with this Competition or any marketing activities undertaken by the Promoter within a period of 12 (twelve) months after they are announced as winners.
6.2 In the event of circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter or if required by law, the Promoter will be entitled to change the Competition Rules or cancel the Competition without notice or otherwise substitute or vary rewards with rewards of equivalent or greater Genio coins value. The Promoter shall in such an event publish an announcement on www.clubgenio.co.za or in any other appropriate medium.
6.3 To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Promoter, its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors accept no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage, including but not limited to physical harm or death, howsoever arising from or as a result of any entrant’s participation in the competition or the entrant’s redemption of any reward under the competition, or from any amendments to the Competition Rules.
6.4 Nothing in these rules should be interpreted or understood to unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations of any person under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.
6.6 These terms and conditions are available on the Genio website and also on request from the Promoter via email to email@example.com, during the hours of 08h30 and 16h30 Mondays to Fridays (but excluding public holidays in the Republic of South Africa).
6.7 To the extent required by law, winners will be required to fulfil the requirements as stipulated in the Regulation of Interception of Communication and Provision of Communication Related Information Act, as amended before claiming a reward.
